Veterans Inspiring Patriotism

Serving schools, teachers, students, and America

The Veterans Inspiring Patriotism (or V.I.P.) program is designed to inspire patriotism, public service, integrity and an appreciation for America's freedoms. Our program's emphasis is on teaching the freedoms, liberties and rights which are protected under the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

(Note: if you are viewing this page on an iPad or iPhone, you may view the video on veterans in the classroom here.)

This educational program is designed for elementary, middle, and high school students (grades K-12) and and consists of a 30-50 minute presentation that includes an inspirational video, a personal testimony from a veteran, and a question/answer period.

In a typical presentation, the veteran (or active duty service member) speaks about his or her personal pride to be an American, and about the oath he or she took to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America." Through the video presentation and the inspiring words of a veteran, students have the opportunity to interactively learn about our Constitution, Bill of Rights and patriotism.

In addition, all schools are eligible to receive free American flags for their classrooms, along with copies of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

This program is delivered at no cost to schools by The Joe Foss Institute. The Institute does NOT promote any political, religious or military organization or agenda.

If you would like to schedule your school or youth group for a presentation, simply fill out our online request form with your desired presentation date.

If you are a veteran or active duty service member and would like to volunteer to give presentations, please fill out this form.
