Our Newest Scholarship Essay Contest

The Annual Hays C. Kirby Scholarship Contest

2012-hck-theme-web

Write a Winning Essay. Win a $5000 Scholarship!

Here's how to enter our essay contest for a chance to win a $5000, $500, or $250 scholarship:

  1. Download and carefully review the Official Guidelines below.
Be careful here—submitted essays that do not follow the guidelines fully will not be considered.
  2. Write and submit your essay.
The essay should be a minimum of 1500 words, and based on the theme: "Is My Country Proud of Me?" Our panel of judges will review the entries, select finalists, and award the winner a $5000 scholarship. The runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship. The second runner-up will receive a $250 scholarship.
  3. The best essay wins.
It really does. There are, however, some entry rules. You have to be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior or senior---and you have to follow the rules carefully. We'll look forward to reading your great work.

All essays must be received electronically by 11:59 MST, Sunday, March 11, 2012. No exceptions for late entries.

If you have any questions about the essay scholarship contest, please contact us at Scholarship@JoeFoss.com. Even for those students who do not win, the essay contests have proven to be a positive experience. We have created our essay contests that award a scholarship for high school students so that all of our entrants are inspired by the lessons learned in writing the essay.
