The Joe Foss Institute held two highly-visible events in November of 2011 in Scottsdale, AZ. The first was our second annual Stars & Stripes Classic, presented by Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold, and hosted by emmy-award-winner Roy Firestone. During the event, Gary Sinise received the Joe Foss Institute Award for Patriotism, and NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Also honored that night were Sacramento Mayor and former NBA all-star Kevin Johnson, StudentsFirst Founder Michelle Rhee and two recipients of our nation's highest military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor. The next day, JFI held a golf tournament at the spectacular TPC Scottsdale course.
Each was designed to accelerate the Institute's work across America, and to raise awareness for the Joe Foss Institute's mission. Read about the events here.
