JFI at Boys State

Saturday, 18 June 2011
The Joe Foss Institute teamed up in support of Arizona Boys State this month in Flagstaff.

Boys State is one of the most respected programs of government instruction for high school students. The kids take a hands-on approach for one full week, learning the structure of city, county and state governments.  Dylan Dalzotto helped with registration on opening day and supported JFI volunteers Dick Melick, Bob Anderson and Bill O'Hagen, who put on a Veteran's Inspiring Patriotism Program for the students.

The scholarship is presented to the outstanding student participant who, during the week at Boys State, has demonstrated unsurpassed leadership and a passion towards the lifetime values that Joe Foss himself embraced: Patriotism, Integrity, Service, and Character. A career in public service enriches the lives of everyone within a community and is more than a job, it is an act of citizenship. Congratulations Jevin Hodge!

We would like to thank Sheila Galloway for inviting us to this wonderful event.  For more information on Boys State please visit http://www.legion.org/boysnation.
